01 / Light & craftsmanship
Cut
The way a diamond comes to life.
Cut describes how a diamond’s proportions, facets, and finish work with light. It influences brightness, flashes of color, and the sparkle you see as the stone moves.
Shape is the outline, such as round, oval, or pear. Cut quality describes the craftsmanship behind that appearance.

GIA’s overall cut grade applies to standard round brilliant diamonds in the D–Z color range. For other shapes, proportions, polish, symmetry, and viewing the actual stone help you assess its appearance.
02 / The details within
Clarity
Small characteristics. A closer look.
Clarity considers inclusions inside a diamond and blemishes on its surface. Graders assess their size, number, location, and visibility under 10× magnification.
Many characteristics are too small to see without magnification. The report and a close view of the individual stone give you more context than a grade alone.

These are the 11 grades in the GIA clarity scale. A grade is based on examination at 10×; it does not by itself tell you exactly what you will notice in everyday wear.
03 / Subtle shades
Color
From colorless to a warmer hue.
For diamonds in the normal color range, color grading measures the presence of yellow or brown tint. GIA’s scale begins at D for colorless and continues to Z for light color.
Color is graded in controlled lighting by comparison with reference stones. Small differences can be difficult to judge from a photograph or screen.

This scale describes the normal color range. Fancy-color diamonds are evaluated separately.
04 / Weight & presence
Carat
Weight, with its own sense of scale.
Carat, abbreviated ct, measures a diamond’s weight. One carat equals 0.2 grams and is divided into 100 points, so a 50-point diamond weighs 0.50 ct.
Carat alone does not describe face-up size. Shape and proportions also affect how large a diamond appears, so compare its millimeter measurements as well as its weight.

1.00 ct = 0.20 g
Two diamonds with the same carat weight can differ in appearance and value. Consider all four C’s together. Carat is also different from karat, which describes the purity of gold.

You can browse and use the design studios without creating an account. Inquiry forms prepare an email in your own email app; completing a form alone does not submit it to DORIA. If you send that email, we receive your email address, any optional name, design choices, message, budget, timing, and attachments you choose to include. Purchase and shipping details are discussed by email when needed.
Please do not put payment-card numbers, passwords, government identification, or other sensitive information in the forms. We do not ask for a street address or phone number in the website’s inquiry forms. No payments are processed on this website.
How information is used
We use information you provide to respond to your request, discuss designs or sourcing, confirm an order, arrange delivery, address issues, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. An inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.
Website services and sharing
The website’s design previews run on your device. Fonts, product images, and the 3D library are included in the website file. The site does not include advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, social-media embeds, or a marketing SDK.
If you enable optional market prices, your browser requests gold, silver, and platinum quotes from Gold API. That provider receives technical connection information such as your IP address and browser information. No form contents, design selections, cookies, or account credentials are sent with these requests. The website omits the referrer. You may disable this feature at any time in .
The hosting provider receives the technical information necessary to deliver the website, such as an IP address and request information. Email providers process messages that you choose to send. The website is an inquiry service. Sending an inquiry or saving a design does not place an order or reserve a piece. No payments are processed on this website. DORIA will confirm availability, specifications, sizing, the final price, applicable charges, shipping arrangements, and payment instructions by email before an order proceeds. Listed inventory prices are in US dollars and may be corrected if an error is identified before an order is accepted.
Custom work and deposits
All custom pieces require a deposit before casting or sourcing begins. The deposit amount, agreed specifications, timing, and any change or cancellation terms must be confirmed in writing before you pay. This website does not specify a deposit percentage or authorize work automatically.
Images and design previews
Custom designs are available by inquiry and are not listed inventory. Original product photographs are available in each piece’s details. Read the description and condition information before purchasing.
